22 Ships Bound for India Listed for Evacuation from Hormuz

In a recent development concerning Indias energy security, a total of 20 vessels have been identified as critical for the countrys energy supply. These vessels collectively transport over 500,000 tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), as well as approximately 1.676 million tonnes of crude oil.

To facilitate the timely evacuation of these vital supplies, various government agencies are collaborating to implement necessary measures. The strategic importance of these shipments is underscored by Indias growing energy demands and reliance on imports to meet its consumption needs.

The coordination efforts aim to ensure that these resources are safely and efficiently transported, helping to maintain stability in the domestic energy market amidst fluctuating global energy prices. This initiative is particularly critical as India seeks to bolster its energy independence while navigating a complex international energy landscape.
