KTR Questions Hyderabad Civic Body on Street Naming Practices

In a recent statement, K. T. Rama Rao (KTR), the Minister for IT and Municipal Administration in Telangana, expressed criticism towards the Hyderabad civic body regarding the management of mosquito control in the city. The minister posed a rhetorical question about renaming streets after mosquitoes if the city authorities were unable to effectively address the growing mosquito problem.

KTR’s remarks came during an official meeting where he emphasized the need for improved public health measures and better sanitation efforts to combat vector-borne diseases, particularly during the monsoon season when mosquito populations tend to rise.

As Hyderabad grapples with urbanization and increasing instances of diseases such as dengue and malaria, the minister urged the civic body to adopt more proactive strategies in vector control. He highlighted the importance of public awareness campaigns and community involvement in sanitation efforts.

This comments sparked discussions about the effectiveness of municipal services, with citizens expressing their concerns about the rising mosquito population and its impact on public health. The debate continues as local authorities are under pressure to enhance existing measures and respond to community needs more effectively.
