K.C. Venugopal, a prominent leader in the Congress party, addressed inquiries regarding the future candidacies of party Members of Parliament (MPs) K. Sudhakaran and Adoor Prakash, who have expressed their desire to contest in the upcoming elections. Venugopal stated that the party will consider their requests and make a decision in due course.

As of now, the Congress party has not officially announced its candidates for the Kannur and Konni constituencies, which are currently represented by Sudhakaran and Prakash, respectively. The initial candidate list released by the party includes 20 incumbent Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), indicating a strategic approach as they prepare for the upcoming electoral contests.
