PM Discusses Safe Passage Through Strait of Hormuz in Call with UAE President

Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, recently engaged in a telephone conversation with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). During the discussion, both leaders addressed the critical importance of ensuring safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway for global oil shipments.

The Strait of Hormuz, located between Oman and Iran, is considered one of the most strategically significant chokepoints in the world, through which a significant percentage of the worlds crude oil supply is transported. The conversation comes amid rising regional tensions and concerns about securing maritime routes essential for international trade.

This dialogue reflects the ongoing commitment of both nations to maintain stability in the region and highlights the significance of India-UAE relations, which have strengthened in recent years through mutual cooperation in trade, investment, and security partnerships.
