LPG Shortage Forces PM POSHAN Kitchens to Rely on Firewood, Impacting Female Workers

The Prime Minister’s POSHAN (Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman) scheme, which provides meals to approximately 110 million children in over 1.035 million schools across India, is set to return to using alternative fuels in its operations.

Originally launched to enhance the nutritional intake of children from socially disadvantaged and low-income families, this initiative plays a crucial role in supporting educational participation and health among Indias youth. The shift back to alternative fuels aims to improve sustainability and reduce environmental impact in the implementation of the program.

By integrating eco-friendly fuel sources, the scheme not only focuses on providing nutritious meals but also addresses climate change concerns. The decision is expected to improve efficiency and cut down on costs associated with traditional fuel sources.

The PM POSHAN scheme has been instrumental in combatting child malnutrition in India, and this development reflects the governments commitment to enhancing the health outcomes of children while promoting green energy solutions.
