Navy Provides Escort for Tankers in Hormuz; No Fuel or Gas Shortage, Says Rajnath Singh

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has assured that there is no fuel or gas shortage in India amidst escalating tensions in the West Asia region, particularly following the recent conflict involving Iran. Singh made this statement while addressing concerns related to security and supply lines in the Persian Gulf, emphasizing that the Indian Navy is actively escorting oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz to ensure the safe passage of maritime trade.

The Indian Navy’s deployment in this strategically significant waterway forms part of broader maritime security operations aimed at safeguarding Indias vital energy imports, which predominantly flow through this crucial corridor. The Strait of Hormuz, through which approximately 20% of the worlds oil passes, has been the focal point of geopolitical conflicts, and the Indian government is keen to reassure the public regarding fuel supply stability within the country.
