Second Edition of IOS SAGAR Aims to Enhance Maritime Collaboration in the Indian Ocean Region

The Indian Navy has initiated the Indo-Pacific Oceanic Strategy for the Assistance of Global Alliance in Resource-sharing (IOS SAGAR), a distinctive operational engagement program aimed at enhancing collaboration with allied naval forces. This initiative allows naval personnel from partner countries to undergo training and conduct joint exercises while sailing together aboard Indian Naval vessels.

The IOS SAGAR program not only fosters interoperability between the navies involved but also strengthens diplomatic ties and enhances maritime security in the region. Through this initiative, participating personnel will gain practical experience and insight into naval operations, as well as an understanding of naval practices and protocols specific to the Indian Navy.

Furthermore, the program is part of India’s broader strategy to promote peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region and reflects its commitment to building strong partnerships with nations that share similar maritime interests. As such, IOS SAGAR marks a significant step towards enhancing collective capabilities in ensuring safe and secure seas.
