Petroleum Secretary Engages with State Chief Secretaries to Discuss LPG Access for Automobiles and Migrant Workers
The Petroleum Secretary has urged state governments to explore the option of targeted distribution of 5 kg liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders. This initiative is designed to enhance accessibility and affordability of cooking fuel, particularly for low-income households or those in remote areas.
In addition to the targeted distribution of smaller LPG cylinders, the Secretary also recommended the development of vehicles that are capable of operating on both petrol and LPG. Such dual-fuel vehicles can help reduce dependency on petrol, which is typically more expensive, and support a transition towards cleaner fuel options.
This recommendation is aligned with ongoing efforts by the government to promote the use of cleaner energy sources and lessen the environmental impact of fossil fuels. Further discussions are expected to take place among state representatives to evaluate the feasibility and logistics of implementing these initiatives effectively.
