Andhra Pradesh Introduces Free Bus Travel for Individuals with Disabilities
The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has announced a new initiative aimed at supporting individuals with disabilities. Under this scheme, persons with a disability rating of 40% or higher will be eligible for free travel across various categories of APSRTC services. Additionally, attendants accompanying these beneficiaries will receive a 50% discount on their fares.
This initiative is part of APSRTCs ongoing efforts to enhance accessibility and provide necessary support to people with disabilities. The scheme is expected to ease transportation challenges faced by individuals with disabilities, allowing them to travel more freely for various purposes, including education, employment, and healthcare.
To qualify for the program, beneficiaries must present valid documentation verifying their disability status. The initiative highlights the APSRTC’s commitment to promoting inclusivity and ensuring that all individuals have equal access to public transport services. Further details regarding the application process and the services covered under this scheme can be obtained from the official APSRTC website or through local bus station offices.
