Karnataka Leads in Training Women Self-Help Group Members as Drone Pilots Under Namo Drone Didi Yojana
In Karnataka, the Koppal district has emerged as a leader in the formation of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), boasting a total of 13 SHGs. This is followed closely by Kalaburagi with 12 SHGs and Mandya, which has established 11 SHGs.
Self-Help Groups have been instrumental in empowering local communities, particularly among women, by providing them with opportunities for savings, credit, and entrepreneurship. The increase in the number of SHGs in these districts can be attributed to various government initiatives aimed at promoting financial inclusion and self-reliance among low-income households.
The government of Karnataka has launched several programs to facilitate the growth of SHGs, including financial support, training, and capacity-building initiatives. These efforts are in line with the larger national objective of enhancing the livelihoods of marginalized communities across the country. As SHGs continue to gain traction, they are expected to play a crucial role in improving economic resilience and fostering community development in the region.
