Gurgaon Identified as Indias Most Polluted City in March 2026, According to Report
In March 2023, a report identified the top ten cities in India with the highest levels of air pollution. Alongside the notable city of Delhi, the other cities included on the list are Bahadurgarh, Faridabad, Singrauli, Mandideep, Ghaziabad, Manesar, Bhiwadi, Noida, and Nandesari.
These cities often experience high pollution levels due to various factors such as industrial emissions, vehicular exhaust, and construction activities. For instance, Ghaziabad and Noida, which are part of the National Capital Region (NCR), have been particularly affected by rapid urbanization and industrial growth. Similarly, Singrauli, known for its coal mining and energy production, faces significant air quality challenges.
Authorities and environmental organizations are urging for more stringent regulations to combat pollution and improve air quality in these regions. Increased public awareness about health impacts and the need for sustainable practices is also emphasized as a crucial step towards reducing air pollution levels.
