Census 2027: Demarcation of Houselisting Blocks Scheduled for Late April
Census officials are set to demarcate House Listing Blocks (HLBs) in preparation for the upcoming census exercise scheduled for July 2024. This demarcation process will provide officials with a clearer understanding of the number of enumerators needed to effectively carry out the census.
The planned census will incorporate a 15-day self-enumeration period in June, allowing residents to provide information on their households prior to the official counting. This initiative is aimed at improving data accuracy and encouraging public participation. By establishing HLBs, census officials can efficiently allocate resources and ensure adequate coverage across all regions, vital for gathering comprehensive demographic data that supports government planning and resource allocation. The last national census was conducted in 2011, making this forthcoming exercise essential for updating statistical information.
