Scheduled Castes in Tirunelveli Enhance Their Community Through School Establishment

The community has established a network of schools throughout Tamil Nadu, including a significant presence in the Tirunelveli district. Currently, there are 28 schools in Tirunelveli that were originally set up by the community and are now operating as government-aided primary institutions.

These schools play an essential role in providing accessible education to local children and contribute to the overall literacy and development of the region. Government-aided schools receive financial support from the government to help cover operational costs, which allows them to offer educational services at little or no cost to families. The efforts of the community in establishing these schools reflect a commitment to fostering educational opportunities and improving the quality of education in both urban and rural areas of Tamil Nadu.
