Edappadi Palaniswami Claims PM Modis Assurance on Delimitation Undermines Stalins Position
In an interview with The Hindu, former Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami highlighted that Tamil Nadus representation in the Lok Sabha is projected to increase from 7.18% to 7.23%. He indicated that this change challenges the assertions made by current Chief Minister M.K. Stalin regarding the states share in parliamentary representation.
This increase may be attributed to factors such as changes in population demographics and electoral redistribution processes. The Lok Sabha, Indias lower house of Parliament, has 543 seats, and Tamil Nadu currently holds 39 of them. Palaniswamis remarks come amid ongoing discussions around electoral strategy and representation within the state as the political landscape evolves ahead of upcoming elections.
