Chandrababu Naidu Advocates for Double Engine Governance to Achieve Rapid Growth in Tamil Nadu
In a recent statement, Mr. Naidu highlighted concerns regarding the stagnation of growth in Chennai when compared to other metropolitan cities such as Bengaluru and Hyderabad. He noted that the current facilities at Chennai International Airport fall short of the standards observed at both Bengalurus Kempegowda International Airport and Hyderabads Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.
Chennai International Airport, which handles a considerable volume of domestic and international flight traffic, has been undergoing some upgrades; however, critics argue that these improvements are insufficient to support the citys potential growth as a key transportation hub. In contrast, both Bengaluru and Hyderabad have made significant advancements in their airport infrastructure, contributing to their economic development and attractiveness as locations for business investment.
Furthermore, Bengalurus airport features advanced technology and passenger services, while Hyderabad has been recognized for its efficient management and facilities, including express check-ins and world-class lounges. As Chennai aims to bolster its status as a major city in the region, the emphasis on improving its airport and overall infrastructure may play a critical role in future development efforts.
