Mango Pulp Exporters Request Government Assistance Due to Increasing Geopolitical Tensions
The All India Food Processors’ Association (AIFPA) has formally appealed to the Central Government for a series of support measures aimed at aiding the food processing industry. The association is advocating for the provision of liquidity support to help stabilize the financial positions of businesses affected by recent economic challenges.
In addition to liquidity assistance, AIFPA is calling for improved access to credit facilities to encourage investment and growth within the sector. The association also seeks relief on freight and insurance costs, which have been rising due to various factors, including inflation and supply chain disruptions exacerbated by the ongoing global pandemic.
Furthermore, the AIFPA is requesting regulatory relaxations, specifically the inclusion of force majeure provisions, which would allow companies greater flexibility in fulfilling contractual obligations when faced with unforeseen circumstances.
These measures are intended to bolster the food processing sector, which is a critical part of Indias economy, contributing significantly to employment and agricultural productivity. The food processing industry plays a vital role in improving food security and reducing food waste by enhancing the value chain from farm to consumer. As the sector continues to navigate the challenges presented by the current economic climate, the AIFPAs recommendations aim to foster a more resilient and sustainable food processing landscape in India.
