SAD Criticizes AAP Government in Response to Power Outages in Punjab

Punjab Power Minister Sanjeev Arora has stated that the state is effectively managing its electrical supply amidst a significant surge in electricity demand. In a recent report, it was noted that demand has escalated dramatically, rising from 7,900 megawatts (MW) to over 12,000 MW within a span of just ten days.

This increase in demand can be attributed to various factors, including rising temperatures and heightened usage during peak hours. The Punjab government has implemented measures to ensure that the power supply meets this growing need, including optimizing energy distribution and increasing generation capacity.

As part of its long-term strategy, the Punjab Power Department continues to explore sustainable energy sources and infrastructure enhancements to better manage fluctuations in electricity demand, especially during critical periods. Residents and businesses are encouraged to utilize energy-efficient practices to help stabilize demand during peak times.
