Telangana Census: FAQ Session Available for Public Viewing
Bharati Hollikeri, the Director of Census Operations in Telangana, recently provided insights in an interview with *The Hindu* regarding the upcoming census process in the state.
Hollikeri outlined the procedures that will be implemented during the enumeration phase. He clarified that while enumerators are expected to gather demographic data, there will be no requirement for citizens to present documents during the census. This approach aims to streamline the process and encourage participation among all residents.
To enhance transparency and security, Hollikeri emphasized that enumerators will carry official identification. Citizens will be able to verify the identities of these officials during field visits. Additional measures, such as a dedicated helpline and website, will be established to assist individuals who want to confirm the legitimacy of census workers.
The census is vital for the government, as it impacts resource allocation and representation at both state and national levels. The process is expected to begin in the coming months, with comprehensive training provided to enumerators to ensure accurate data collection.
