Noida Airport to Commence Commercial Flights on June 15 Following Leadership Transition Due to CEOs Foreign Citizenship

On March 28, 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially inaugurated the Noida International Airport, marking a significant milestone for the National Capital Region (NCR) of India. This new airport is expected to enhance connectivity and stimulate economic growth in the region.

The Noida International Airport, located in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, is designed to accommodate the increasing air traffic demands of the NCR, which includes Delhi and its surrounding areas. Upon completion, the airport is projected to have a capacity of approximately 12 million passengers annually, with plans for future expansion to accommodate up to 60 million passengers.

The construction of the airport is part of a broader initiative to develop world-class infrastructure in India and promote regional connectivity. The project has been developed by Zurich Airport International AG in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh government, and it is expected to create thousands of jobs in the region.
