Kerala Assembly Elections 2026: BDJS and Twenty20 Struggle to Make Significant Political Impact
In the recent elections, the Twenty20 party contested 19 seats but succeeded in making a significant impact only in the Kunnathunad constituency, where it secured approximately 40,000 votes. Party founder Sabu Jacob remains optimistic about the party’s alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), expressing belief in its potential to yield positive results in the long-term political landscape.
Meanwhile, the Bharat Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS) fielded candidates in 22 constituencies, with only the nominee from Aroor managing to achieve a commendable performance. The overall outcomes for both Twenty20 and BDJS have prompted introspection, raising critical questions regarding their political viability and future strategies.
Given the competitive nature of the electoral environment, both parties may need to reevaluate their approaches and develop plans to strengthen their positions in upcoming elections. The results reflect the broader challenges faced by regional political entities in a climate dominated by larger national parties.
