Economic Advisory Panel Urges Policy Changes to Address Rising Demand for Caregivers

The Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM) has recommended a comprehensive review and reform of the existing frameworks governing the caregiving sector in India. This call to action comes in light of projections indicating that the demand for caregivers in the country could surpass 30 million by the year 2050.

In its recent report, the EAC-PM outlined the necessity for strategic planning to address the aging population and increasing healthcare challenges that could drive the demand for caregiving services. The panel emphasized the need to enhance training programs, improve working conditions, and support the integration of technology in caregiving roles to better equip the workforce for future demands.
