Rahul Gandhi Claims One in Six BJP MPs in Lok Sabha Elected Through Vote Manipulation

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has raised concerns regarding the legitimacy of certain Members of Parliament (MPs) from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He asserted that approximately one-sixth of the BJP MPs in the Lok Sabha secured their seats through what he termed “vote chori,” a colloquial phrase suggesting electoral malpractice or manipulation. Gandhi further referred to these MPs as “ghuspethiya,” which translates to infiltrators or interlopers, implying that they do not have a genuine mandate from the electorate.

This statement comes amidst ongoing political debates and tensions in India, where both the Congress party and the BJP have been vocal about electoral integrity. The Lok Sabha, the lower house of Indias Parliament, consists of 543 members, making the implication that around 90 MPs from the BJP could be considered illegitimate according to Gandhis claims.

These remarks may also reignite discussions surrounding electoral reforms and the necessity for transparency in the electoral process. The BJP has not yet responded publicly to these allegations.
