Indias Migration Strategy Rooted in Dignity and Rights, Says MoS Kirti Vardhan Singh

At the United Nations headquarters, a round table discussion was held focused on the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration. This event brought together representatives from various member states, international organizations, and civil society to examine the implementation of the compact, which was adopted in December 2018.

The compact aims to enhance international cooperation on migration issues, ensuring dignity and safety for migrants while addressing the challenges associated with migration. Topics discussed included best practices, opportunities for collaboration, and strategies to address the root causes of forced migration, such as conflict and climate change. The event underscores the UNs ongoing commitment to facilitate a global approach to migration that respects human rights and fosters economic growth.
