Nara Lokesh Proposes Establishment of Digital Trade Corridor between Andhra Pradesh and Singapore

In a recent initiative, the Union Minister for Human Resource Development (HRD) has proposed collaboration with the World Bank for the development of the Amaravati Economic Region in Andhra Pradesh. This proposal aims to enhance infrastructure, promote investment, and foster economic growth in the region, which has been envisioned as a significant urban and economic hub.

Additionally, the Minister has called for the revival of the Andhra Pradesh-China chili trade corridor, which historically facilitated agricultural exports, particularly chili peppers, between the two regions. Reviving this corridor could boost local farmers incomes and reintegrate Andhra Pradesh into the international agricultural trade network.

Moreover, the Minister is advocating for Andhra Pradesh to be recognized as a future destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE). This initiative aligns with the states broader strategy to increase tourism and attract business travelers, showcasing its rich cultural heritage and modern infrastructure.
