Cabinet Endorses ₹37,500 Crore Initiative to Enhance Coal Gasification

India Aims to Gasify 100 Million Tonnes of Coal by 2030

India has set an ambitious target to gasify 100 million tonnes of coal by the year 2030 as part of its strategy to enhance energy security and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. This initiative is expected to promote cleaner energy production and align with the nation’s commitment to achieving greater sustainability.

Coal gasification involves converting solid coal into gas, which can then be used for various applications, including electricity generation, chemicals production, and as a fuel for vehicles.
