Congress and DMK Allies Reiterate Support for the TVK Government

In a strategic political alliance, the Tamil Nadu-based political party, the Tamil Nationalist Party (TVK), fell 10 seats short of achieving an absolute majority in the latest election. To facilitate the formation of a government, the Congress party, along with Left parties, the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), and the Vck (Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi), have agreed to extend their support to the TVK.

Congress Legislature Party leader S. Rajesh Kumar emphasized that this coalition aims to counteract any potential indirect influence of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state. Such arrangements are not uncommon in Indian politics, particularly when parties seek to consolidate power to prevent the dominance of rival parties. As the situation develops, analysts will be closely monitoring how this coalition will operate and what policies it may prioritize in the future.
