Karnataka Seeks to Repatriate Lakkundi Artefacts from Delhi After 50 Years

In October 1976, D.K. Hebboor and T.K. Nayak officially presented a collection of historical artefacts to then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. This significant transfer was part of an effort to preserve and promote Indias cultural heritage. Subsequently, the artefacts were entrusted to the National Museum, where they have been maintained as part of the nations rich tapestry of history. The National Museum in New Delhi serves as a major institution for the preservation of Indias diverse cultural legacy, showcasing artefacts from various periods and geographical regions within the country.
