Satheesan Appoints 20 Ministers; Kerala Cabinet Scheduled to Take Oath on May 18

In a recent statement, V.D. Satheesan, the leader of the Congress party in Kerala, explained that out of the 63 elected Congress Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) within the United Democratic Front (UDF), some qualified individuals were not appointed to Ministerial positions. He noted that the decision-making process involved careful consideration of various social and regional factors to ensure a balanced representation within the government.

The UDF, a coalition of various political parties in Kerala, is currently navigating the challenges of governance while also aiming to maintain harmony among its diverse constituent groups. The inclusion of candidates reflects not only party loyalty and expertise but also the necessity for equitable representation of Keralas varied demographics in the Cabinet. This situation highlights the complexities parties face in coalition governance, particularly in regions with significant social and economic diversity.
