States to Receive VB-G RAM G Funding According to 16th Finance Commission Formula and Performance Criteria

The draft regulations for a new employment scheme are currently available for public feedback until June 21. To oversee the implementation of this initiative, a 16-member National Level Steering Committee will be established, which is required to include representatives from five states. Additionally, the draft outlines specific provisions for transitioning participants from the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) to this forthcoming scheme.

As the new employment scheme aims to enhance job opportunities and improve livelihood security, the involvement of state representatives in the steering committee is intended to ensure that regional needs and perspectives are adequately addressed. The guidelines also detail the process for effectively phasing out individuals from MGNREGA while ensuring a smooth transition to the new program, emphasizing continued support for rural employment. Stakeholders, including local governments and community organizations, are encouraged to review the draft and provide input to shape the final regulations.
