Shwetha Menon Addresses Issues Surrounding AMMA Crisis

Shweta Menon, President of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), has openly discussed the current challenges facing the organization. In a recent statement, Menon expressed her willingness to resign if senior members of the committee deem it necessary. She conveyed a sense of being cornered and perceived as a target within the executive committee, suggesting that some of the difficulties she faces might stem from the resistance to female leadership in the industry.

Additionally, Menon addressed the controversy involving actors Ansiba Hassan and Tiny Tom, describing the situation as “planned” and pointing out existing communication gaps within the association that may have contributed to the escalation of the issue.

Menons comments come at a time when discussions about gender representation and equality in leadership roles within the Indian film industry are increasingly prominent. AMMA, which has been a significant body for artists in the Malayalam film sector, may seek to address these concerns in the future as it navigates internal dynamics and external pressures.
