West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari Initiates Cervical Cancer Vaccination Campaign for More Than 750,000 Girls Aged 14

A new health campaign has been launched focusing on adolescent girls who have completed 14 years of age but have not yet reached 15. As part of this initiative, these girls will receive a free single dose of the quadrivalent Gardasil-4 vaccine, which is designed to protect against four strains of the human papillomavirus (HPV).

The Gardasil-4 vaccine is aimed at preventing cervical cancer, as well as other cancers and conditions related to HPV. This initiative aligns with public health goals to increase vaccination rates and reduce the incidence of HPV-related diseases. The campaign underscores the importance of vaccination during adolescence, a critical period for establishing long-term health behaviors.

Public health officials encourage parents to take advantage of this opportunity, as timely vaccination can significantly reduce the risk of HPV transmission and related health complications. Further information about the vaccine, its benefits, and the administration process can be obtained from local health departments or healthcare providers.
