Health Minister Advocates for Integrating Yoga into Daily Life

The Government of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.) has announced the establishment of the Yoga Prachara Parishad, aimed at institutionalizing the promotion of yoga across the region. This initiative will include the creation of three regional offices dedicated to advancing yoga practices and education.

As part of this initiative, Amaravati, the state capital, is set to host the main celebrations for the International Yoga Day on June 21. This global event, established by the United Nations in 2014, promotes the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga worldwide.

The formation of the Yoga Prachara Parishad reflects A.P.s commitment to enhancing public health and wellbeing through traditional practices. The regional offices will facilitate training programs, workshops, and community outreach efforts designed to raise awareness and increase participation in yoga.

International Yoga Day activities will likely include mass yoga sessions, demonstrations, and expert talks, encouraging citizens to embrace yoga as a lifestyle choice. This move aligns with ongoing efforts in India to promote wellness through holistic practices and foster a culture of fitness among the population.
