Centre Enters Agreement with ISRO to Launch New Water Research Initiatives
The Department of Water Resources and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on 24 pivotal research areas. This partnership aims to leverage satellite technology and data analytics to enhance water management practices and address challenges related to water resource sustainability.
The collaboration will focus on various aspects, including water availability assessment, flood management, drought monitoring, and the efficient usage of water resources in agricultural practices. By utilizing ISROs expertise in remote sensing and geospatial technologies, this initiative seeks to improve decision-making processes and support effective strategies for water conservation.
