Bellatrix Aerospace Collaborates on South Korean VLEO Satellite Mission Launch

TelePIX and Bellatrix Aerospace have announced a collaborative partnership to integrate TelePIXs advanced high-resolution wide-swath optical payload, known as Chouette, with Bellatrixs innovative Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO) satellite platform. The VLEO satellite will be powered by the companys proprietary Air-Breathing Electric Propulsion (ABEP) technology.

This partnership aims to enhance Earth observation capabilities, providing high-quality imagery for a variety of applications, including environmental monitoring, urban planning, and disaster response. The Chouette payload is designed to capture detailed images over large areas, while the ABEP system is recognized for its efficiency in energy consumption, particularly at low altitudes.

Bellatrix Aerospaces VLEO platform operates at altitudes between 200 to 400 kilometers, allowing for reduced latency and improved data resolution compared to traditional satellites. By integrating TelePIXs optical technology with Bellatrix’s propulsion system, the collaboration seeks to advance the capabilities of satellite imaging and foster innovation in the aerospace sector.
