State Highways Completes Restoration of Yelagiri Hills Road
Highways officials have reported that the mountainous regions in the area are characterized by loose rocks, which pose a risk of rockslides. In response, they have constructed earthen retaining walls at ten designated locations to mitigate this risk. These measures aim to prevent rockslides and enhance the stability of the recently re-laid carriageway.
Retaining walls are crucial in managing soil erosion and sliding, especially in areas with steep terrain. The construction of these structures is part of a broader initiative to ensure the safety and durability of highways in regions prone to geological instability. In addition, ongoing monitoring of these sites will be implemented to ensure their effectiveness over time.
