UPPSC APS Results: 4,240 Candidates Participate, No Qualifications Achieved

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) recently released the results of the Additional Private Secretary (APS) Examination 2023, revealing that none of the 4,240 candidates who sat for the exam achieved qualification for the next phase. This unexpected outcome has led to the decision to carry forward all 331 vacancies originally set for this recruitment cycle, as no candidate was able to meet the requisite minimum speed of 80 words per minute in Hindi shorthand during the second-stage examination.

The APS examination is a crucial opportunity for aspiring secretarial candidates in Uttar Pradesh, with positions offering significant responsibilities in administrative support within government departments. The disqualification of all candidates raises concerns about either the preparation methods used by examinees or the level of difficulty of the exam itself.

In response to this situation, UPPSC has emphasized that future examinations may require additional resources or training programs to better equip candidates in achieving the necessary qualifications. The commission is also working towards reviewing its examination formats to ensure they align more closely with candidate capabilities while still upholding rigorous standards.

This outcome not only impacts the immediate job prospects for candidates but also reflects broader trends in public service recruitment in India, where competition remains high and performance standards are stringently upheld.
