Nepal Cricket Board Issues Apology Following Historic Achievement by Bhutans Choden

In a notable event during the ACC Premier Cup T20I match against Nepal, Bhutan’s Ritshi Choden became the first female batter in international cricket to be dismissed due to being timed out. This occurred after Choden took over 90 seconds to reach the crease. As a result, Nepal lodged an official appeal, which was upheld by the match officials, leaving Bhutan with a score of 0 for 2 at that point in the innings.

While the dismissal adhered to the regulations of cricket, it stirred discussions regarding sportsmanship. Subsequently, the Nepal Cricket Board issued an apology, stating that the appeal went against the spirit of the game.

In the match itself, Bhutan was unable to recover from the early setback and ultimately lost to Nepal by a margin of 51 runs. This incident highlights the intricacies of cricket regulations and the importance of maintaining a respectful competitive spirit among teams.
