Kerala Monsoons: IMD Issues Red Alert for Five Districts on June 6

The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority has issued an orange alert for most regions of Kerala, with the exception of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, and Alappuzha. These areas are forecasted to experience very heavy rainfall in the coming days.

The orange alert indicates a likelihood of severe weather conditions, prompting residents to prepare for possible disruptions. Meteorological reports suggest that the heavy rainfall could result in localized flooding, landslides, and disruptions to transportation and power supply in affected regions.

Authorities are advising the public to stay informed through official updates and to take necessary precautions. Additionally, emergency services are on standby to respond to any incidents resulting from the adverse weather conditions. The India Meteorological Department continues to monitor the situation closely and will provide updates as more information becomes available. Residents are encouraged to check local weather forecasts regularly for the latest developments.
