Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis Inaugurates Shivaji Maharaj Statue at Navi Mumbai International Airport

A 20-foot bronze equestrian statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj has been installed at the newly operational airport, which commenced services in December 2025. This statue honors the Maratha warrior king, who is regarded as a symbol of pride and valor in Indian history.

The statue stands prominently at the entrance of the airport, serving as a tribute to Shivaji Maharajs legacy and contribution to the establishment of the Maratha Empire in the 17th century. The installation is part of a larger initiative to celebrate regional heritage and promote cultural identity.

The airport, which has been designed to accommodate increasing passenger traffic, features modern amenities and facilities aimed at enhancing the travel experience for both domestic and international travelers.
