Government Reduces PM-Ujjwala Yojana LPG Refill Limits from 9 to 4

Since its official launch in 2016, the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) has successfully provided over 10.55 crore LPG connections across India. The initiative aims to improve access to clean cooking fuel for economically disadvantaged households, thereby promoting health and environmental benefits by reducing reliance on traditional biomass fuels. The scheme primarily targets women and aims to empower them by reducing the time and effort required for cooking. As of now, the program continues to expand, with the government emphasizing its commitment to enhancing energy security and ensuring that every household has access to clean cooking energy.
