JSW Infra Wins Bid for Kolkata Port Container Terminal

A prominent logistics company has secured a 30-year concession to develop container facilities at the Netaji Subhas Dock, part of the Kolkata Dock System. This significant development will enhance the companys overall capacity to 1.4 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs).

The expansion at Netaji Subhas Dock is part of a broader initiative to modernize and increase efficiency within India’s port infrastructure, which is vital for supporting the country’s trade and economic growth. The Kolkata Dock System serves as a crucial entry point for shipping in the eastern region of India, facilitating both import and export activities.

This concession aligns with the governments efforts to promote investment in port infrastructure, aimed at bolstering maritime trade and improving logistical capabilities. The development is expected to create new job opportunities and may enhance the competitive landscape for shipping and logistics firms operating in the region.
