PM Modi Highlights Indias Ongoing Growth Amid Global Uncertainty at NITI Aayog Meeting
During the 11th meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog, Prime Minister Modi emphasized Indias commitment to fostering economic growth and enhancing export capabilities through the establishment of free trade agreements (FTAs) with various nations.
The Prime Minister highlighted that these FTAs are crucial for integrated global commerce and are designed to facilitate easier access to international markets for Indian goods and services. He noted that engaging in such agreements not only opens new pathways for trade but also enhances competitiveness for Indian industries on the global stage.
As of October 2023, India has concluded several FTAs and is currently negotiating others with countries such as Australia, the United Kingdom, and the European Union, which aim to bolster bilateral trade relations and stimulate economic growth. The government views these agreements as pivotal in achieving its goal of becoming a $5 trillion economy. The NITI Aayogs Governing Council, consisting of representatives from various states and union territories, plays a key role in shaping policies that support these initiatives.
