Satish Poonia and Alka Gurjar of the BJP, along with Congress Neeraj Dangi, Elected Unopposed to Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan

Rajasthan is currently allocated a total of 10 Rajya Sabha seats, which are evenly divided between the two major political parties: the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress. Each party holds 5 seats in the Upper House of Parliament.

The Rajya Sabha, India’s upper legislative chamber, plays a critical role in representing the states at the national level. Members are elected by the elected members of the State Legislative Assemblies using a single transferable vote system. In Rajasthan, both parties have historically competed for these seats, often reflecting broader electoral trends in the state.

The distribution of Rajya Sabha seats is particularly significant, as it influences legislative discussions and decision-making at the national level. With Rajasthan’s political landscape frequently fluctuating, future elections could impact the balance of power within the Rajya Sabha.
