Sanskrit Classes to Be Offered for Grades 6 and 9 in Kendriya Vidyalayas

The inclusion of Sanskrit as an optional language in all Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) facilitates a seamless transition for students who often relocate due to their parents jobs, particularly in government service. This policy not only allows these students to maintain continuity in their language education but also provides other students the opportunity to select regional languages that may be more relevant to their local context.

However, many KVs encounter challenges related to a shortage of qualified teachers and limited resources to adequately support a diverse language curriculum. The availability of experienced educators and teaching materials is crucial in ensuring that all language options are delivered effectively. The Government of India has been working to address these challenges, which include increasing faculty training initiatives and improving infrastructure. This approach aims to enhance the overall educational experience for students while accommodating different linguistic backgrounds.
