Mamata Banerjee Restructures TMCs Youth and Womens Wings; Saayoni and Mala Roy Reassigned from Key Roles

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has announced a leadership change within its womens wing, the Trinamool Mahila Congress. Mala Roy, the Member of Parliament representing Kolkata Dakshin, has been succeeded by Alifa Ahmed, who currently serves as an MLA for Kaliganj in Nadia district.

This decision reflects the partys ongoing efforts to refresh its leadership and engage new representatives in key positions. Alifa Ahmeds experience as an MLA may contribute to the TMCs strategies in addressing womens issues and enhancing political participation among women in West Bengal. The TMC is known for prioritizing womens empowerment within its framework, and this reshuffle may signal a concerted effort to strengthen this focus.

As of now, there has been no official statement from either Mala Roy or Alifa Ahmed regarding this transition. The party continues to hold significant influence in West Bengal, where it has been in power since 2011 under the leadership of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
