PM Modi: India Recognized for Having the Worlds Largest Healthcare Program

The Prime Minister recently highlighted the impact of initiatives such as the PM Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana in making essential healthcare products more affordable. This program has significantly reduced the costs of medicines, stents, and knee implants, thereby enhancing accessibility for a larger section of the population.

Launched in 2015, the PM Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana aims to provide quality medicines at low prices through a network of Jan Aushadhi stores across the country. These stores offer generic medicines that are often available at prices up to 90% lower than branded alternatives. The initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure that healthcare remains accessible to all citizens, thereby improving overall public health outcomes in India.

The Prime Ministers remarks underscore the governments ongoing commitment to healthcare reform and its efforts to reduce the financial burden of medical treatments on families. Additional measures, including the expansion of healthcare facilities and health insurance schemes, complement these initiatives, aiming to create a more comprehensive healthcare system.
