India Unveils CWG 2026 Athletics Team; Neeraj Chopras Selection Includes Unique Aspect

Indias athletics federation has officially announced a 32-member squad for the upcoming 2026 Commonwealth Games, highlighting a blend of experienced competitors and promising newcomers. Notably, the team includes Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra; however, his participation is contingent upon fulfilling specific selection criteria set by the federation. Similarly, triple jumper Selva Prabhu will also be subject to these stipulations before securing his place in the final lineup.

The athletes will compete across a variety of track and field events, with the objective of maximizing Indias representation and performance in these disciplines. The Commonwealth Games are slated to take place in Victoria, Australia, from March 17 to March 29, 2026.
