Indias Defence Production Reaches Record ₹1.78 Lakh Crore in FY 2025-26

The Defence Ministry has announced that the latest figures indicate a significant milestone in defense production, with a reported output of ₹1.78 lakh crore for the current fiscal year. This represents a growth of 15.6% compared to the previous fiscal years output of ₹1.54 lakh crore.

This increase is attributed to various factors, including the governments push for self-reliance in defense manufacturing, the implementation of the Make in India initiative, and a growing emphasis on indigenization of defense equipment. The rise in production output may also reflect increased investments in research and development, alongside greater collaboration between the public and private sectors in the defense industry.

As India seeks to enhance its defense capabilities, this growth aligns with the broader goal of bolstering domestic manufacturing while reducing dependency on foreign defense imports. Continued advancements in technology and innovation are expected to further drive these figures in the years to come.
