Manika Batra Misses Asian Games Qualification by Three Ranking Points

In the upcoming Games scheduled from September 19 to October 4 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, the Indian women’s table tennis team will be captained by Sreeja Akula due to the absence of key player Manika Batra. The team roster includes players Yashaswini Ghorpade, Diya Chitale, Sutirtha Mukherjee, and 17-year-old Syndrela Das.

Manika Batra and Swastika Ghosh have been designated as reserve players for the event. The inclusion of a young talent like Syndrela Das is notable, as she represents the emerging generation of athletes in Indian table tennis. The team will seek to assert its presence at the Games, following Indias growing success in table tennis on the international stage, including notable performances in previous championships and tournaments.
