Students Encounter Technical Issues When Applying for Free Bus Passes in Karnataka

On June 3, Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar officially took office and subsequently unveiled a new initiative aimed at supporting students in Karnataka. The program will provide free bus travel for students enrolled in educational institutions throughout the state.

This initiative is part of the Chief Minister’s broader efforts to enhance access to education and reduce transportation costs for families. It is expected to benefit thousands of students, particularly those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, by easing the financial burden associated with commuting to school or college.

The governments transport department is set to implement the scheme across various public transport systems within Karnataka, including state-run buses. Additional details regarding the application process and eligibility criteria for students will be announced in the coming weeks.
